I did that, touched down perfectly, and jumped out. I was trying to land quickly in front of a convoy, and if you get a feel for the controls you can come in really fast then press shift right before touching down to soften your landing. My favorite Tier 1 operator moment was a SNAFU caused by the helicopter controls. "I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who beat you, and pray for them to beat the shit out of the Buckeyes" - The Book of Witten They let you skip the tedious animations in far cry 4, but apparently forgot about it while making grw. You can't even bind the goddamn Map key, which is like my 3rd most commonly used key not counting movement and firing, or at least it would be if they didn't bind it to the M button all the way across the keyboard. Yeah, "peak Ubisoft" describes this game pretty well. Creed and Far Cry series collected in one place. This game is just peak Ubisoft, it has all the weird choices they made in the rear end. One thing that makes it a bit "easier" is that you can hold for example X while walking and once you hit the sweet spot it will start "counting", you don't have to wait for the prompt to appear. GreatGreen fucked around with this message at 14:28 on Mar 16, 2017 Grand Theft Auto lets you steal entire cars with a quick tap of one button, why can't this game let you do the same thing with stealing cars and tapping resources? I can understand having to hold the button down to swap a weapon with one on the ground as a kind of failsafe "are you sure about this?" check, but no player is going to need to be asked if they're really sure if they want to tag a barrel. All it does is break the flow of the game. It's not about getting resources, it's about feeling quick and efficient, and making the things you do in the game feel smooth and snappy.Īlong the same lines, I'd also love it if we didn't have to hold down the drat Use button for two seconds every time we wanted to do anything. I just think the implementation of tagging itself feels clumsy and takes waaaaay too long. I think it's fun to invade bases and totally clean house, moving around shooting and tagging everything. I like how you can't cancel or move while talking to someone so if you start getting shot up while asking the Spanish pope about drug cartels you just gotta sit there and bear the bullets Gadzuko fucked around with this message at 14:02 on Mar 16, 2017 Tags give mostly trivial amounts of resources Just do whatever you want.Į: this also applies to tagging things, skip it and just do supply raids if you want. The only reason to use any gun is "because it's fun", this game isn't hard enough to require min maxing. GreatGreen fucked around with this message at 14:01 on Mar 16, 2017 Or, you know, just constantly take control from the player and make him watch the same small handful of 5-second tagging cutscenes thousands of times a piece. Just let us press the tag button within a few feet of each object and make our character's non-dominant hand play out a casual "tossing beacon" animation at whatever it is without otherwise affecting character movement or the camera, so control is never taken away from the player. Or there doesn't need to be a mini cutscene at all. OK Ubisoft, seriously, if you're having players going around and "tagging" thousands of doodads around the map, The animation needs to be shortened by like 90%. *stumbles on reload and dies to a Nightstalker Super during Quick Play* THIS IS HOW YOU REMIND ME OF WHAT I REALLY AM I guess I just want there to be a reason to use them so I keep trying to find one, haha I am really close to beating the game now and I think that the smuggling operation has the worst missions by far, both unfun and mechanically bad. It is super irritating to do convoy missions now since I blow up the truck pretty much every time no matter how careful I am, your AI teammates shooting the truck when the driver is inside it doesn't help. They really should make it so that the improved vehicle damage isn't used for cars that you are supposed to protect, hijack or tag. Now, the mission before that where you have to hijack a truck with money and deliver it, that took like 4 tries due to my maxed out vehicle damage making the truck explode after a couple of stray shots. There was a moment where El Pulpo decided to stop on the highway, turn around in a circle and then continue the same way, but otherwise it went really fine. El Pulpo jumped into a jeep and I just drove right behind him while the AI murdered anything coming up from behind. All I needed was a regular jeep and maxed out leadership skill + the medal (the one that makes your teammates more effective). I managed to escort El Pulo to the airport first try yesterday, no tricks, no gimmicks.
